That’s why all of our UK holiday locations offer dog friendly holidays for just an additional £15 per pet, per night. The ultimate laid-back romantic break
Switch off from the world in a cosy cabin... Just you, your special someone and the dog.
Wake up to birdsong, explore the great outdoors and snuggle up by the log burner in your very own forest cabin. Psst... Our hideaway cabins are all newly renovated!
We love dogs at Forest Holidays and welcome them with open arms; some of our Forest Rangers even have their own dogs at work with them. You can bring your dog into the Forest Retreat or let them rest at the drinking station while you get them some doggy treats from the shop. There are outdoor taps to wash the forest mud away after a long walk too, and many other little details to make life for you and your dog easier. You’ll understand that you must keep your dog on a lead around location and we ask that you don’t leave them unaccompanied.
There are plenty of dog friendly things to do near to our locations, from forest trails to museums and even a jail! Inveraray Jail near to Ardgartan Argyll welcomes dogs, and they are welcome too in the bar and garden at our Strathyre local, The Lade Inn. In North Yorkshire, the Ryedale Folk Museum, a short drive from Cropton and Keldy, is dog friendly and, at Sherwood Forest, you can take the dog to Hardwick Old Hall, an English Heritage property.
How about a trip on a steam train? Dogs are welcome at Dean Forest Railway in the Forest of Dean or the Bure Valley Railway in Norfolk, near Thorpe Forest, where they even have their own resident dog. In Hampshire, near Blackwood Forest, the South Downs offer miles of beautiful walks for you and your dog. At the Eden Project near Deerpark in Cornwall, dogs can enjoy the outdoor trails. This is just a flavour of the things you can do on a Forest Holiday with your dog; visit Forestipedia too, for dog friendly beaches and other dog friendly holiday ideas.
Spoil your smallest family member with our Doggy Hamper
Welcome them to the forest with a hamper full of favourites from Sir Woofchester’s.
Pups can fill up on a relaxing roast as the family feasts. Tuck into treat pots after refreshing walkies. Or settle in by the log burner with their own Bark beer to enjoy the good life!
Our pet-friendly cabins welcome well-behaved pets and many guests bring their dogs and house cats. Approximately half of our cabins at each location are pet-friendly and suitable for your furry friends. We just ask that they’re not left unattended in your cabin and dogs should be kept on leads when walking around location. Please note, pets should be included in your online check-in form.
We know that pets are a part of the family, so we welcome up to four pets in each of our pet-friendly cabins. These are charged at £15 per pet, per night and allow your pet to enjoy your forest break with you.
As most pets have their own particular set up, we don’t provide bowls or beds so you’ll need to bring these with you. But don’t worry, there's plenty of space to make your pet feel right at home with their favourite things.
Stay in a pet-friendly White Willow Premium and a dog shower is included. Perfect for cleaning those muddy paws after exploring the forest.
Our locations are surrounded by dog friendly places to visit. Check out our Forestipedia blog for inspiration or speak to a member of the team in the Forest Retreat, we’ll help you out with ideas and our top recommendations.
