Have you got what it takes to survive in the wild? Time to find out! Learn all sorts — from how to light a fire from scratch to building a woodland shelter. Then it’s time to relax around the campfire with a much-deserved cuppa brewed from your very own, freshly foraged herbs.
Adventures on the water
From canoeing the River Wye to kayaking on a Scottish loch, we've got just the place for water lovers! Make the most of the loch canoeing and paddling at Strathyre, or venture out to Loch Lomond's islands at Ardgartan Argyll. There's also lots to explore on the local rivers at Delamere Forest, Thorpe Forest and Forest of Dean.

Horse riding & pony trekking
There's no better way to explore the forest trails and countryside than on horse-back. With lessons and escorted rides from beginners to experienced riders, explore the countryside around our locations from a new perspective. Try coloured cob pony trekking through the ancient forest trails of Sherwood Forest, or a ride through the wild North Yorkshire landscape at Cropton or Keldy.
Challenging adventures
Push yourself to reach new heights! Enjoy forest fun at our locations, with a tree challenge session at Thorpe Forest, the Zipwire at Keldy - available if you're staying at Cropton too - or a treetop adventure at Treezone, near Ardgartan Argyll. Archery & shooting
Archery is one of the oldest sports, and you can give it a try at all our locations. Pick up your bow and arrow, take aim then experience the thrill that of hitting the target. For real enthusiasts, ‘Weapons through the ages’ at Thorpe Forest allows you to try your hand at nine weapons from different eras, including axes and spears. This one's for ages 14 and over and under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
