Germander Speedwell
Thorpe Forest’s varied habitats are home to several different plant species that you may spot as you stroll around the location. The open glade at Thorpe Forest has dry sandy soils, providing perfect conditions for a species rich grassland.
One plant you are likely to see is Germander Speedwell which grows in large clumps. Its small bright blue flowers with a white centre are said to be a good luck charm for travelers.
Common Lizard
From open glades to shaded woodland paths, Thorpe Forest provides a wide variety of habitats for many different animals. Three of the UK’s 6 species of reptile have been spotted here.
