With 45 well-spaced Classic cabins, stretching along the western shore of Loch Lubnaig, Strathyre is an idyllic location. You will find Golden Oak or Silver Birch cabins, and of course popular with couples the Golden Oak Hideaway. The heart of Strathyre is the Forest Retreat where you’ll find many amenities, here you can meet the Forest Ranger, book activities, and hire bikes.

Forest Retreat

The Forest Retreat, at the heart of our Strathyre location has everything you need to make your holiday special. The friendly team are on hand to book activities and offer help and advice. You can enjoy freshly cooked meals and snacks in the warm, inviting café or relax over a drink at the bar. The Forest Retreat is stocked full of everyday essentials, holiday luxuries, and souvenirs.

    Our restaurant at Strathyre is open between 8:30am – 8:00pm, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Choose from a variety of food and beverages: curries, pizzas, burgers, and more! Browse our menu, order at the bar, and inform the team of what table you’re sitting at. If you truly want to enjoy the scenic views Strathyre has to offer, the terrace is ideal for this.

    With a seating area to enjoy a drink or snack you can sit back and enjoy the views. We offer a takeaway service from our Forest Retreat at Strathyre. Pop in and order with us or place an order from the comfort of your cabin. We’ll take care of the cooking and deliver your meal right to your cabin door.

    In the shop at Strathyre, you will find all the essentials you need during your stay, from essential groceries to souvenirs to take home. We sell a range of groceries, toiletries, beverages and of course souvenirs to remind you of your forest adventure. Please note that our usual opening times are 8:30am – 8:00pm.

Bike hire is available at Strathyre, please visit the Forest Retreat and speak to a member of the team. The National Cycling Route 7 goes straight past our cabins and offers miles of relatively easy off-road cycling along the old railway route. With lochs, waterfalls, forests, and rivers along the route, there are lots of places to enjoy a picnic and a rest.

    At Strathyre there is a bug hotel, attracting lots of bugs and insects. This means they can pollinate our flowers and keep unwanted pests to a minimum like aphids and slugs.

  • Scotland trails

    Scotland trails

    There are lots of scenic walks direct from your cabin. Park the car for the duration of your break, put on your walking boots, and enjoy the views this location has to offer. The Rob Roy Way passes our cabins at Strathyre taking you along a 7km trail up to Callander. You pass by the Falls of Leny, encounter an ancient Roman Fort and skirt the banks of the River Teith before arriving in Callander for refreshments.
