There is plenty to do on-location at Ardgartan Argyll; head to the Forest Retreat, which is home to our restaurant, café, bar, and well-stocked shop. Here you can meet the Forest Ranger, book activities, and hire bikes.
Forest Retreat
Our Forest Retreat is at the heart of our location at Ardgartan Argyll. Here you can meet our friendly team, who will help you make the most of your holiday. Housed in an old stone building, you’ll find a well-stocked shop with all the essentials, a comfortable seating area and bar and restaurant serving good food all day.
Vehicle Charging Point
There are two vehicle charging points available on location at Ardgartan Argyll. These can be found outside the Forest Retreat. Do not use extension leads to charge your vehicle from a cabin socket - this is not permitted as it can cause fires, circuit overload and loss of power to your cabin or the entire location.
Restaurant, bar and café
Our restaurant at Ardgartan Argyll is open from 9am for all-day dining, with breakfast, brunch, small plates and British classics to choose from, as well as coffee, wines and cocktails.. Choose from a variety of food and beverages: curries, pizzas, burgers, and more! Browse our menu, order at the bar, and inform the team of what table you’re sitting at. With an outdoor seating area, it’s just the spot to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest.
We also offer a takeaway menu, so you can have your favourites delivered to enjoy in the comfort of your cabin. Simply pop in and order with us or place an online order from your cabin. Then sit back while we take care of the cooking and deliver your meal right to your cabin door.

In the shop at Ardgartan Argyll, you will find all the essentials you need during your stay, from essential groceries to souvenirs to take home. We sell a range of groceries, toiletries, beverages and of course souvenirs to remind you of your forest adventure. Please note that our usual opening times are 8:30am – 8:00pm.

Pre-book your bikes online so they are ready on arrival
Bike hire is available, please visit the Forest Retreat and speak to a member of the team or add to your booking through your online account. We have a variety of adult frame sizes and child small or large frames. Don’t forget to pick up a handy Walking and Cycling Trails leaflet at the Forest Retreat.

Loch LongScotland trails
There are lots of scenic walks direct from your cabin. Try the shorter Riverside or Boathouse walks, both under 3.2km, to whet your walking appetite. Then, for a longer walk, take the Cat Craig Loop. This 6.4km walk has great views of Loch Long and there are picnic spots along the way. Build on a further 6.4km and some stunning views with the Coilessen Glen Loop.
