Experience a range of cycling trails for all ages. One of our favourites is The Old Military Road. Take in three lochs and catch the waterbus back across Loch Lomond.
Find adventure along two trails at Glenbranter. Our picks is the Glenshellish Route, a ‘gentle taste of the wild’ with rare wildlife and glorious views.
For a trail with views of Loch Lomond and Ben Lomond, take the 27.4km route from Tarbet (near Ardgartan Argyll) down to Balloch at the southern end of Loch Lomond.
This is a trail runs along the banks of Loch Lomond, taking in the pretty village of Luss where you can stop off to try some Scottish Tablet (a favourite local sweet treat). A train station at Balloch to bring you back to Tarbet.
There are two exciting trails for thrill-seekers at Glenbranter. The Glenshellish Route is described as a gentle taste of the wild, with the potential for sighting rare wildlife and enjoying glorious views. The Glen Eck Loop is a full day out and one for the fittest of cyclists, with some hard climbs. Those climbs are worth it though, for views of Loch Eck, Dunoon and the Clyde, Beinn Mhor and, on a clear day the islands of Jura and Islay.

The Glen Eck Loop
A full day out with harder climbs that are worth it for views of Loch Eck, Dunoon and the Clyde, Beinn Mhor. And (on a clear day) the islands of Jura and Islay.
Glen Loin Loop
Take in the splendour of the Arrochar Alps along the Glen Loin Loop. This starts with a tough ascent but ends with a thrilling downhill finish to Arrochar and some of the most breathtaking scenery around.
Cat Craig Loop
Pick up your bikes from our bike hire at Ardgartan Argyll and set straight off on this 6.4km loop, which affords great views of Loch Long and has plenty of picnic spots along the way. It helps you ease your way into your Scottish cycling holiday and find your bearings in the local area too.
