Our location at Forest of Dean offers the canopy of the woodland, or the bright open meadow. With forests to explore, rivers to canoe down, and the soaring 500ft limestone outcrop of Symonds Yat Rock to conquer there is so much on offer. Our General Manager, Katherine Kendall, looks after Forest of Dean.

Upon arrival/departure: When you arrive, simply park up and head to the Forest Retreat from 4pm (unless you have pre-booked Early check-in from 2pm). When you check-in we’ll need to pre-authorise a payment card with us. Upon departure, simply head to the Forest Retreat from 10am (unless you have pre-booked Late check-out from 12pm) and hand in your keys or drop them off in the outside box.
Access and terrain: At Forest of Dean, the terrain is mostly flat and level, with some steep gradients across the woodland and meadow. There are access steps leading up to most of the cabins. Our Wheelchair-adapted Silver Birch is situated on flat and level terrain with a ramp to access the cabin.
Parking: Each cabin at Forest of Dean has 2 allocated parking spaces, except for our Golden Oak Treehouse cabins, which has 3 allocated parking spaces. Additional cars can be registered with the team and parked at the Forest Retreat free of charge.
During your stay
Shopping and food options: The Forest Retreat at Forest of Dean has a small shop containing locally sourced produce and shopping essentials for your convenience, plus breakfast, lunch, and dinner options to be enjoyed in the Forest Retreat or ordered for delivery to your cabin.
Opening hours: 9am – 8pm (8.30am - 8pm on Mondays & Fridays).
Local amentities: The closest supermarkets to Forest of Dean are Londis (4.2 miles), Tesco Express (1.7 miles), Waitrose (6.6 miles), and Co-Operative Food (7.4 miles). You can arrange a supermarket delivery during your stay, but we ask that you meet the driver on their arrival to accept your delivery.
Nearby train stations: The closest train station to Forest of Dean is Gloucester (20 miles) Please note, our locations require a journey by car, taxi, bus etc.
