Our guide of things to do in the Brecon Beacons
Nothing says holiday like a wild adventure in the great outdoors. Why not have a day out at Pontsticill Reservoir, just a 20 minute drive from Garwnant Visitor Centre? From kayaking and white-water rafting to paddleboarding, there really is something for everyone — and you’re guaranteed to get drenched in fun. Go on…push the boat out!
Fancy pushing yourself to the limit on the world’s fastest seated zipline? You’ll love zooming around at Zip World Tower, also just 20 minutes down the road from your Brecon Beacons log cabin.

Nothing’s more relaxing than stargazing… and you couldn’t have chosen a better spot for it than the Brecon Beacons. Your cabin sits within a Dark Skies Reserve, meaning you get to enjoy exceptionally starry skies from the comfort of your bubbling hot tub. Or venture out together on a night walk…you might even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights!
Need a little rest from adrenaline-filled adventures? Head up to Brecon for a proper taste of local culture. This lovely market town is just 13 miles north of your cabin, and makes a great day out whether you’re here with family, friends or your special someone. Soak up the bustling atmosphere, grab a bite to eat by the canal and take a peek at the 800-year-old cathedral.

The Old Railway Line Garden Centre is a brilliant dog-friendly pitstop. It’s a garden centre, farm shop and restaurant rolled into one, meaning you can stock up on local gifts and produce, tuck into a delicious cream tea (or even a Sunday roast), and you can buy doggie treats in here too!
Next up, we have the National Botanic Garden of Wales. With 400 acres of meadows, waterfalls and woodland, this beautiful spot is sure to get their tails wagging. They welcome four-legged friends on Mondays and Fridays, and on the first weekend of every month.
If you book a boat ride with Dragonfly Cruises and Beacon Park Day Boats, you and your dog can spend a few hours drifting along the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal together…we can’t imagine anything more adorable, can you?
