What is Wi-Fi calling?
Wi-Fi calling means you can call and text - even if you don’t have a phone signal. All you need is a Wi-Fi connection and a phone that supports Wi-Fi calling. Although there is sometimes very limited mobile network coverage at our locations, guests should be able to use the WiFi supplied to make and receive calls.
Who can get WiFi calling?
Most mobile networks in the UK now support Wi-Fi calling but you will need a compatible device. We strongly advise you to check with your mobile network provider that they both support Wi-Fi calling and your specific device before arrival at one of our locations. Below we have provided links to some of the most popular mobile UK networks pages listing their support for Wi-Fi calling:
How do I set up Wi-Fi calling?
1. Connect your phone to Wi-Fi on-location, either in the Forest Retreat, or your log cabin.
2. Ensure you have the latest software installed
3. Switch on Wi-Fi Calling in your network or mobile data settings
If necessary, please refer to your specific device manufacturers own instructions on this step as this may vary based on device.
Calling 999 with Wi-Fi calling
You can call the emergency services on 999 but be advised they cannot identify your location. So, you should use a fixed line phone where available to do so. Please be aware fixed line phones are only located in our Forest Retreats and are not available in log cabins.
